City West Quarter
The City West Quarter features live music and dance venues in the entertainment hub of Hindley Street with pubs and clubs, restaurants and cafes close to the Samstag Museum of Art and the Museum of Discovery on North Terrace. The Jam Factory, Mercury Cinema, GU Filmhouse and Lion Arts Factory are located near the UniSA Campuses.
The small bar scene is alive and well in Leigh Street and Peel Street where you will find Clever Little Tailor and Udaberri along with many more.
City West is home to the Adelaide Convention Centre, Festival Centre, SkyCity Casino and the Riverbank Precinct, Railway Station, Adelaide Oval Stadium and many large hotels including the Intercontinental, Playford Adelaide, Stamford Plaza and Mercure.
The largest employer in the City, the Royal Adelaide Hospital is complemented by SAMHRI and University medical research facilities on North Terrace. The Riverbank Precinct has been revitalised by the 250-metre bridge to Adelaide Oval and the new $1 billion Festival Square, the Walker Corporation $300 million office development and the $330 million SkyCity upgrade.
To the south, Waymouth Street is a vibrant restaurant district where some quality establishments including Georges on Waymouth, Press, Melt, Barketta and Delicatessen Kitchen and Bar deliver a quality dining experience to complement the new Arbor Lane linking to the GPO development by Charter Hall. Commuters walk from the train station along Bank Street, Leigh Street through Topham Mall to Her Majesty’s Theatre and the Adelaide Central Market.
