Adelaide Arcade 140 year birthday celebrations
One of Adelaide’s most iconic landmarks, Adelaide Arcade, will mark its 140th anniversary in 2025 with
celebration of its rich history, elegant heritage, and timeless charm through multiple events.
A grand re-enactment of its original opening, time capsule, historical exhibitions, and a few ghostly tales along the way will all go towards marking the historic occasion.
The major highlight of the anniversary year will be a spectacular recreation of Adelaide Arcade’s grand opening
on Friday, 12th December 2025, marking exactly 140 years since its inaugural day. In a nod to the elegance of
the era, official dignitaries will arrive by horse-drawn carriage, greeted by the stirring melodies of a string quartet performing the original Adelaide Arcade Polka and other 19th-century musical pieces by the fountain in Rundle Mall.
Office vacancy rates fall
Office vacancy rates continue to fall in the CBD with many organisations moving into new premises including the office towers at 60 King William and the Plaza overlooking the Adelaide Oval and Riverbank Precinct. The office vacancy rate fell from more than 19% to just over 16%.
